No Account Required

Shaper does not require you to create an account, sign up, or provide any personal information to use the extension. Simply install it from the Chrome Web Store and start using it immediately.

Data We Don't Collect

Shaper does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. Specifically:

We don't collect your conversations or chat history
We don't collect the content of webpages or PDFs you interact with
We don't track your browsing history or usage patterns
We don't collect personal information like name, email, or phone number
We don't use analytics or tracking tools
We don't store your API keys on our servers

How Your Data is Stored

All your data is stored locally in your browser:

Local Storage: Your API keys, saved prompts, and website customizations are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
No Cloud Sync: Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export and share customizations
Your Control: You can delete all data at any time by clearing the extension's storage or uninstalling Shaper

Bring Your Own API Key (BYOK)

When you use your own API key with Shaper:

Your conversations go directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
We never see or have access to your API key or conversations
Your API key is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to Shaper's servers
Your AI provider's privacy policy applies to data sent through their API
You have full control over your API usage and costs

Free AI Access via Pollinations

When you use Shaper's free AI access powered by Pollinations:

Your queries are sent directly from your browser to Pollinations' API
Shaper does not intercept, store, or process these requests
Pollinations' privacy policy applies to data sent through their service
No personal information or account is required to use this feature

Webpage and PDF Interactions

When you chat with webpages or PDFs using Shaper:

Content is extracted locally in your browser and sent directly to your chosen AI provider
Shaper does not store or transmit webpage or PDF content to our servers
All processing happens client-side in your browser

Website Customizations

When you make visual or functional edits to websites:

Your CSS and JavaScript customizations are stored locally in your browser
Customizations are applied client-side and never sent to Shaper's servers
If you choose to export and share customizations, you control what is shared and with whom
Imported customizations from others are stored locally on your device

Extension Permissions

Shaper requires the following Chrome permissions to function:

Active Tab: To read and interact with the current webpage content when you use AI features
Storage: To save your API keys, prompts, and website customizations locally in your browser
Scripting: To inject your custom CSS and JavaScript edits into websites
Host Permissions: To enable the sidebar and AI features on all websites you visit

These permissions are used solely to provide Shaper's functionality and never to collect or transmit your data.

Third-Party Services

Shaper integrates with third-party AI providers. When you use these services:

Data is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider
Each provider's privacy policy applies to their service
Shaper does not have access to or control over how these providers handle your data
