By downloading, installing, or using Shaper, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the extension.

License and Usage

Shaper is provided as a free Chrome extension. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Shaper for personal or commercial use in your browser.

This license includes:

Access to all features including AI sidebar, writing assistance, and website customization
Unlimited free access to AI models via Pollinations (ChatGPT-5 Nano, Deep Seek R1, etc.)
Option to bring your own API key for other AI providers
All future updates and improvements
No account creation required

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

If using your own API key: providing, maintaining, and securing your API key
All costs associated with your own API usage (if applicable)
Ensuring your use of the extension complies with your AI provider's terms of service
Using the extension in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Content you create, modify, or share using Shaper's features
Website customizations you create and share with others

AI Provider Usage

Shaper offers two ways to access AI models:

Free via Pollinations: Unlimited access to models like ChatGPT-5 Nano, Deep Seek R1, and more at no cost
Bring Your Own API Key: Use your preferred AI provider (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) with your own API key

If you choose to use your own API key, you acknowledge that:

You have read and agree to your AI provider's terms of service and usage policies
You are responsible for all charges incurred through your API usage
Shaper is not responsible for any issues with third-party AI services
Your API key and conversations are transmitted directly to your chosen AI provider
Shaper does not store, access, or use your API key or conversation data

Privacy and Data

Shaper is privacy-first by design:

We do NOT store any of your data
We do NOT use your data for any purpose
All prompts, customizations, and settings are stored locally on your device
No account creation is required to use Shaper
When using your own API key, data goes directly to your AI provider

Website Customization Features

Shaper allows you to make visual (CSS) and functional (JavaScript) edits to websites. By using these features:

You acknowledge that customizations may affect website functionality
You are responsible for any customizations you create or apply
Saved customizations are stored locally and auto-applied on future visits
You may export and share customizations with others at your own discretion
Shaper is not responsible for how shared customizations are used by others

Prohibited Uses

You may not use Shaper to:

Violate any laws or regulations
Infringe on intellectual property rights
Create or distribute malicious code or harmful content
Bypass security measures or access restrictions on websites
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the extension
Use the extension for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Create customizations that violate website terms of service
Scrape, harvest, or collect data from websites in violation of their policies

Disclaimer of Warranties

Shaper is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

The extension will be error-free or uninterrupted
Defects will be corrected
The extension is free of viruses or harmful components
Results obtained from AI models will be accurate or reliable
Website customizations will work on all websites or browsers
Free AI access via Pollinations will remain available indefinitely

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shaper and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Loss of data or information
Loss of profits or revenue
Costs of obtaining substitute services
API charges or costs from third-party providers
Website functionality issues caused by customizations
Content generated by AI models

Third-Party Services

Shaper integrates with third-party services including AI providers and Pollinations. We are not responsible for:

Availability, performance, or reliability of third-party services
Changes to third-party service terms, pricing, or features
Content generated by third-party AI models
Data handling practices of third-party services

Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

Modify or discontinue features at any time
Update these terms of service with notice
Release updates and improvements to the extension
Change or remove AI model availability
Modify free tier offerings

Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to Shaper at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using Shaper at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
